About us

Benjamin A. Goldberg, M.D. is a Board Certified Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon and Professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago.  I have  lived in Chicago over thirty years.

My clinical expertise includes reconstruction of complex shoulder and elbow disorders as well as general  orthopaedics.  I commonly perform rotator cuff repairs, shoulder replacement, shoulder and elbow trauma, shoulder and elbow instability, fractures, frozen shoulder, and complex revision surgeries.  I also deal with tennis elbow, stiffness, and elbow arthritis.  I also practice general orthopaedic surgery and fracture care.

As an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon, I take a cooperative approach to caring for my patients and utilize joint patient/physician decision-making.

I believe the most important aspects of providing quality care are listening to the needs of patients; thorough testing; communication; patient education; prevention of musculoskeletal injuries; presenting treatment options to the patient; establishing a relationship with my patients/involving patients in treatment plan.

I am a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you, and to helping you achieve your best possible musculoskeletal health.

Lizette Velez is the OrthoCare orthopaedic practice manager.  She will help you with your needs for scheduling, therapy, imaging, surgery, and injections.  She will communicate with your insurer and attorney if necessary.
